For this assignment, the objective was to record a set of data for a week and convey it in a painting. So for a week, I recorded how many times I washed my hands each day.

Total 65 times in 1 week.
Yes, I recorded each time with an emoji as it helped me keep the data tracking more fun and it was easier to count at the end of each day.
For my painting, I decided to paint on my hand and use a different color for each day to illustrate the number of times I washed my hands for that specific day.
As you can see I was having way too much fun painting my hands and being a goof. I decided to create my handprints in a spiral wave shape to represent water. I also had the plan to drip the handprint paint. As I was doing this and finished all of the handprints and drips, I knew that there was something missing to my piece. I took a break from my painting for a week to try to think of something to add to my composition. I decided that what this piece needed was my signature tape method. I think by adding the tape it helped give the piece the dynamic contrast that it needed.
However, I believe I would have set up my composition differently if I redid this piece again. I would have used darker colors in the background so there would have been a greater contrast between all of my super bright saturated colors. I also thought that I could add more blue triangles all the way around the piece but, I really didn’t want to cover up the beautiful drips that I had created already. Overall I am pleased with how my piece turned out. It was exciting experimenting with finger painting and spraying the paint with water for a project like this.
